The Main Hall of Tehran’s City Theater will host the performances of eleven Iranian passion plays (tazieh) from December 20 to 27. The plays from Tehran, Ahvaz, Arak, Shush, Sabzevaz and Shahriar will be performed at the venue on the occasion of the mourning season of Muharram.

The accepted works of the Panorama of Iran's Theater section of the Fadjr International Theater Festival were announced by the Major Selection Council which includes 14 decisively approved works and 3 conditionally approved plays.

The second press conference of the 28th Fadjr International Theater Festival was held on Dec 15 at the conference hall of the city theater.

The winners of the 11th Festival of Student Puppet Theater were announced at Tehran’s City Theater during a ceremony on Saturday.

Renowned artists Reza Kianian, Marzieh Borumand and Hamid Jebeli were the guests of honor for the ceremony, also attended by several other artists and scholars. The veteran stage director and scholar Behruz Gharibpur was honored during the formalities, his pictures going on screen in his place since he was not in Iran.
