Winners of the national and international competition sections were awarded at the Vahdat Hall on Sunday, February 20, 2011.
The Grand Prize of the event went to Pandora 88, a duologue by German stage director Andrew Dawson.
Other winners of this year's Fajr International Theater Festival are as follows:
enowned German director Peter Stein will perform “Faust Fantasia” during the festival and the Italian stage director Romeo Castellucci will also perform one of his plays at the festival. He will also hold workshops at the festival.
According to agreements signed by two directors, the festival paid 50% of their expenses, the secretary of festival Mohammad Heydari mentioned in a press conference at the Tehran City Theater on Saturday. “We will also plan a joint project with these two great stage directors in the upcoming year,” he added. “Pandora 88” by Andrew Dawson (Germany, Canada), “Europeans” by Jiri Adamec (Czech) and “Women of Troy Calamities” by Salvatore Tramacere (Italy) are among the plays that will go on stage at the International Section. ]]>
Theater workshops will be held simultaneously in Tehran and capitals of provinces from February 5 to 12, the secretary of the festival Mohammad Heidari mentioned at the conference. The stage, street and international performances will go on stage in Tehran’s theaters from February 20, he added. In the regional theater section, twelve plays, which were the Marivan National Theater Festival winners from eleven provinces, will go on stage during the festival, he mentioned. ]]>
The ceremony was attended by Iranian minister of culture along with puppet show artists, As an interesting point it was the puppets themselves! who managed the ending ceremony of the event specialy a jiant puppet resembeling Mobarak , the Iranian traditional symbol of this art.

The play called ”Male Le Kul” written by Hossein Fazlullahi and directed by Omid Khakpour from Mahabad town became the best play and was referred to 29th International Fadjr theater festival.

Theater troupes from various cities including Tehran, Karaj, Anzali Port and Gorgan will stage their puppet shows in several different theaters in Tehran.
The Ferdowsi Hall will host “Rumi Puppet Theater” by Behruz Gharibpur and “Bijan and Manijeh” By Rasul Najafian will be performed at the Niavaran Cultural Center. “Samak Ayyar” by Javad Zolfaqari will go on stage at the Chaharsu Hall of Tehran City Theater Complex.]]>
The event was held in Hamadan – North Iran- at the Ibn Sina hall and the winners in different sections received their prizes as follows:
Radio Theater; Mohammad Reza Ghobadi-far , best sound for Ali Haj Nourouzi and Hamid Reza Esfandiar and Mehdi Ghorbanian for their piece called" Story Town" , while Nader Gohar Soudi got his prize for the music of the play called" Dream Box" from Isphahan.]]>

The secretary of the festival Mostafa Rahmandust expressed his pleasure over the holding of the festival in its “hometown” of Hamedan. The last event was held in Isfahan.
At the start, Rahmandust called upon the children to recite “One Hundred Rubies” together. Composed by Rahmandust himself, this popular poem is found in Iran’s elementary school text books.]]>
