Iran's 24th children's filmfest

The 24th edition of Iran's International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults has kicked off in the country's western city of Hamadan.

More than 60 Iranian animations as well as short and feature-length films will compete in the event's national competition section while 200 productions from 32 countries will vie for this year's awards in the international competition section.

3rd Festival of Razavi Book of the Year

Concurrent with the Keramat decade and Imam Reza (AS) birthday celebrations the 3rd Festival of Selecting Razavi Book of the Year will be held with the attendance of scholars, authors, poets and publishers of Razavi works.

The ceremony is slated to run October 11 in Astan-e Quds Razavi's research foundation building.

The executive secretary of 3rd Festival of Selecting Razavi Book of the Year said:" 3rd Festival of Selecting Razavi Book of the Year, which will be held by Organization of libraries, museums, and documents center of Astan Qods Razavi, will host many Iranian and foreign authors and scholars.

ECO Calligraphy Festival

The head of the policymaking council for the ECO Calligraphy Festival in Tajikistan, Gholamhossein Amirkhani, is convinced that the festival can reinforce the deep roots of calligraphy in the ECO member states.

Tajikistan’s capital Dushanbe will be hosting the ECO Calligraphy Festival running from October 13 to 27. In a press conference held here on Tuesday, veteran calligrapher Amirkhani elaborated on the programs of the festival.

Top Quran designers, illustrators & calligraphers

According to the news headquarters of 1st Mos'haf Sharif Int'l Print Contest, the head of the contest's judging committee said:" Quran designers, illustrators and calligraphers who are shortlisted for the final stage will be honored with testimonials.

" Ali Sabet added: "According to the opinions of current Quranic experts and judges the laureates of Quranic works of aesthetic value will be presented as well."

On the other hand the new category would not be added to this year's contest so the fields of calligraphy, illumination and designing will gain special points.

Organizers of the 24th Hamedan International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults will honor four veterans of Iranian cinema with lifetime achievement awards.

The tribute will be paid to the deceased film producer Mohammad-Baqer Ashtiani, actor Morteza Ahmadi and comedy actors Akbar Abdi and Alireza Khamseh.

The festival will take place in Hamedan- Northern Iran- from October 8 to 12.

9th Festival of "Iran's young poets

The 9th Festival of "Iran's young poets" will be held on free topics and sacred defense.According to Tehran's municipality the festival will be held by the organization's artistic deputy office.

Young poets and songwriters, who need to be 15-30 years old, could send 5 of their recent works on free topics and Sacred Defense to the festival's secretariat

Winners of children and young adults theater festival announced

The final ceremony of the seventeenth children and young adult's theater festival announced its winners.

The event was held in Hamadan – North Iran- at the Ibn Sina hall  and the winners in different sections received their prizes as follows:

Radio Theater; Mohammad Reza Ghobadi-far , best sound for Ali Haj Nourouzi and Hamid Reza Esfandiar  and Mehdi Ghorbanian for their piece called" Story Town" , while Nader Gohar Soudi got his prize for the music of the play called" Dream Box" from Isphahan.

Intl. Theater Festival for Children and Young Adults

The 17th edition of the International Theater Festival for Children and Young Adults inaugurated in Hamedan on September 29.

The secretary of the festival Mostafa Rahmandust expressed his pleasure over the holding of the festival in its “hometown” of Hamedan. The last event was held in Isfahan.

At the start, Rahmandust called upon the children to recite “One Hundred Rubies” together. Composed by Rahmandust himself, this popular poem is found in Iran’s elementary school text books.

5th Razavi visual arts festival

Works in different fields of visual arts ; Ghalam zani, Khatam kari, maliledoozi, Farshbafi, Firoozehkoobi, Moarragh, Monabbat, Minasazi, Kashikari and traditional needling  on subjects related to Imam Reza (A.S) have been received by the secretariat of the fifth Razavi visual arts festival.

The final ceremony of the festival will be held on 24th of Mehr 1389 in Farshchian  Talar in Isfahan.

Call for the "Fifth Fajr Poetry Festival"

Secretariat of the fajr (Fadjr) poetry festival called on all poets interested to participate in its fifth event.

The fifth festival will be competitively and all ages, subjects, forms and poetry styles ; traditional.white, Nimai, songs and poetry for children and young adults are welcome.

Participants can send their works in the form of a book or printed 10-20 pages of their new poems to any section of the festival.

Final date for receiving the poems is end of Aban 1389, and they must be sent to the following address:
