Call for 3rd Fajr visual art festival

The third visual art event in Fajr festivals will receive works through net. Artists from Iran and other countries are called to send their works through internet to www.ivafestival.ir.

Registration will also be done through the site but sending works is nor restricted to net only.

Works in the following sections of the festival; painting, calligraphy, Negargari( traditional Persian painting) and ceramics will be judged by their photograph. Other sections of the event include Photography,cartoons, Khialinegari and new art with

 
40th Roshd film fest announces winners

The fourteeth Roshd film festival specializing on children and young adults film held its final ceremony by selecting best works and artists.

Rezai's "A light in the fog" won the best feature film special prize by jury while Ebrahim Forouzesh won the First Prize for his film named" First Stone".

In short film section "Packed Air " by Akbar Torab pour won the first prize.

The best films made by the student film makers was "E-cut" a documentary by Nasim Akbarpour, "

Tehran festival dedicates section to Kurdish short films

The 27th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival is dedicating the section Rojna to films produced in the Kurdish language this year.

The festival organizers have opened this section with the aim of strengthening local cinema and recognizing potentials and talents in different provinces of the country.

A collection of 16 shorts coming from Sanandaj, Marivan, Kermanshah, Mahabad, Baneh and Ilam will go

 
Call for fifth Ashura poster competition

Hoze Honari center for visual arts has called on artists to send their works for the fifth event to be held on Moharram 1432 Hijri.( Nov 2010). The works will be received by the sectretariat in Hoze Honari Tehran.

International festival of children art

The first international festival of visuall art for children and young adults will be held in Ordibehesht 1390 AH( May 2011) in Isphahan – South Iran.

The festival will have two sections; National and International in three age categories; 6-9, 9-12, and 12-16 . The events will be held live and the method of production will be in workshops. 30 selected Child artists from 30 provinces will participate in the event and will perform their activities in

 
Eighteen Islamic countries in Tehran short film fest

Turkey, Lebanon and Singapore have the highest number of films sent by Muslim states with 38, 22 and 18 productions respectively.

"The festival's selection committee will choose the best films for the competition section," festival director Hashem Mirzakhani said.

Parviz Sheikhtadi, Seyyed Morteza Seyyedinejad and Milad Dokhanchi are this year's selection

 
Gam-e Aval Literary Award

The closing ceremony of the 4th Gam-e Aval Literary Award was held in Kerman on Mondayi. During the ceremony the selected authors were announced.

The closing ceremony of the 4th Gam-e Aval Literary Award was held in Kerman's Emad Kermani hall.

During the ceremony,the selected and praiseworthy works were announced, moreover for the first time provincial authors were presented as well.

House of Music Celebration

The House of Music Celebration announced its winners during a ceremony held Monday at the Vahdat Hall The winners were announced in three sections: books published on music since 2006, albums as well as the winner of the Meshkatian Special Award.

The celebration was held on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of establishment of the house. “Ghafe Eashgh”, an album by vocalist Alireza Qorbani and Eshtiaq ensemble ranks first among seven albums on the short list at the Album Section.

Santur virtuoso Masud Aramesh won the Meshkatian Special Award for his solo performance and composer Asghar Mohammadi was awarded for his innovative piece played on the zarb.

 
40th Roshd film festival

Children's filmfest names winners

This year's festival screened more than 60 Iranian animations as well as short and feature-length films along with 200 productions from 32 other countries.
Argentina, Austria, the US, Spain, Brazil, Sweden, France, India, Poland, Finland, Ukraine, the UK, Italy, Ireland, Bulgaria and Turkey were among the countries participating in the festival's international competition section.
