The 27th international competition of the Holy Quran has opened in the Iranian capital Tehran, bringing together representatives from 60 Muslim countries. The competition is held annually on reciting and memorizing the Holy Quran. Reciting the Quran with correct pronunciation is a delicate art and memorizing the holy book is also considered very important to Muslims. This year, more than 90 representatives from 60 countries are taking part in the event, which is also considered an opportunity to further strengthen relationships among Muslims

Tehran is hosting the fifth nationwide exquisite Persian carpet festival to bring different types of Persian carpets under one roof for all to marvel at. The festival, aimed at introducing Iranian culture, is being held in Tehran's Sa'ad Abad Cultural Complex from July 6 through July 16. "The main goal of the festival is to display the pure culture and the nomads and showcase the unique collection of Persian carpets," Mohammad Akbari, the organizer of the festival, told Press TV on

Iran is planning to hold the 17th edition of its International Youth Visual Arts Festival hosting 280 artists from Iran and around the globe. Some 250 artists from Iran will take part in the event along with 30 international participants who will present their works in nine categories. “The Festival will kick off on July 12, 2010 with the aim of offering a clear picture of the capabilities of the young generation all around the world,” festival director Gholam-Reza Montazeri told reporters on Tuesday. |

Closing ceremony of 12th Book of the Season Award was held Tuesday evening (June 22) in Houzeh Honari.
Secretary of the event said: "According to the statistics released by the Book House Institute, during the first edition 2409 books were judged and 35 were picked up. During the 12th edition the works boosted to 6,000 book titles."
He continued, introducing 57 books as selected and praiseworthy works indicate the edition's growth.

The twenty seventh annual event on short films will be held in Tehran and 8 other provinces from 28th Aban to 3rd Azar (18th – 23rd Nov 2010).
Organizers of the festival have two sections in the festival; National and International, while the national section will hold the"National Competition" , Reflection of Faith", " Beautiful Landscape of our lands", " A Light on the Way" and side events. And International section will hold "International Competition" , " Asian Competition", " Eastern Reflection" and " Islamic World".

The first national calligraphy biennial of Iran ended it's work in Qazvin, with introduction of the best calligraphers of Naskh, Tholth, Nastaaligh and broken Nastaaligh.
The ceremony which was held in the presence of minister of culture ,Hosseini, and the members of jury; Amirkhani, Shirazi and Pilechi the best Nastaaligh calligrapher's place were jointly won by seyyed Heydar Musavi and Habib Rmazanpour respectively from Qazvin and Tehran.
In calligraphy-painting style, Mostafa Nourbakhsh and Kazem Khorasani won the second and third place from Shahre Kord and Mashad . No winner of the first place |
