Iran is to hold the third International Children's Painting Festival of the Islamic World in an effort to promote unity among world religions.

The event will be held on the themes of 'Me and God' and 'My Dreams' for the 4-7 and 7-10 age groups, IRNA reported.

Some 15,000 works have been submitted to the festival and a five-member jury of illustrators will select three winners in each category. The festival will be held in 15 Muslim countries including Bahrain, Kirgizstan and Tajikistan simultaneously with Iran and selected

works will be displayed in participating countries and all Iranian provinces.

A team of psychologists and consultants will conduct color psychology analyses on submitted paintings. The event has dedicated a section to the works of children suffering from cancer and undergoing dialysis and proceeds from the event will be used to provide treatment for these patients.

The selected works will be published in a book titled Paintings of the Muslim World, which will be released in Persian, English, French and Arabic.

Sponsored by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) office in Iran and the UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office (UTCO), the event will be held on Oct. 8, 2010 in the Iranian capital.
