Pars Special Economic Energy Zone’s Conference on Knowledge-based Development will hold a regional music festival promoting the rituals of Iran’s southern province Bushehr on January 6 and 7 in Asaluyeh.

Over 50 virtuosos on senj and dammam, percussion instruments played in the southern region of Iran, will attend the event, which is on the sidelines of the Conference on Knowledge-based Development at the Pars

Special Economic Energy Zone. The festival has also dedicated a section to Sharveh Khani, the Bushehr regional free rhythm music played in the towns of Dashtestan and Tangestan, and is often accompanied by Baba Taher couplets and Faez Dashti songs. Veterans in the field of Sharveh Khani including Shahsavar Ganji, Allah-Karam Mahdavian, Mohammad Saghiri and Ruhollah Keshtkar will be performing musical selections during the event.

The festival, sponsored by the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, also introduces rituals performed during the mourning season of Muharram and Safar in Bushehr Province.
