Tehran Intl. Poster Biennial at TMCA PDF Print E-mail

The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts (TMCA) will be hosting the 10th Tehran International Poster Biennial beginning Monday.

Over 1800 works by 793 artists from 24 countries were submitted to the gala out of which 264 works will go on display during the one-month event, according to the secretary of the biennial Hassan Noferesti.

Thirty-one countries including Japan, Afghanistan, Belarus, Croatia, Russia, Taiwan, Turkey and Brazil are participating in the biennial, he mentioned. Three veteran graphic artists, Morteza Momayyez from Iran, Alan Fletcher from Britain and Shigo Fukada from Japan, will be honored during the event. He went on to say that the biennial will also host meetings and educational sessions which can be attended by professional artists.

The biennial will be held in two sections. The free section in which posters on cultural and social themes designed after June 2007 participate, and the thematic section of the festival whose theme is “The Contemporary Human and the Environment”.
