Iran is planning to hold the 17th edition of its International Youth Visual Arts Festival hosting 280 artists from Iran and around the globe.

Some 250 artists from Iran will take part in the event along with 30 international participants who will present their works in nine categories.

“The Festival will kick off on July 12, 2010 with the aim of offering a clear picture of the capabilities of the young generation all around the world,” festival director Gholam-Reza Montazeri told reporters on Tuesday.

Iran is to hold the third International Children's Painting Festival of the Islamic World in an effort to promote unity among world religions.

The event will be held on the themes of 'Me and God' and 'My Dreams' for the 4-7 and 7-10 age groups, IRNA reported.

Some 15,000 works have been submitted to the festival and a five-member jury of illustrators will select three winners in each category. The festival will be held in 15 Muslim countries including Bahrain, Kirgizstan and Tajikistan simultaneously with Iran and selected

A festival featuring a wide repertoire of classic and modern music is scheduled to be held from May 24 to 27 at Tehran’s Rudaki Hall.

 The festival is the result of day and night efforts by volunteers. The Rudaki Hall and expenses for publishing brochures have been provided by the Iranian Music Association.

The 104 compositions to be performed in four days will include 34 single and duet performances as well

An exhibition of illustrations for children and young adults books will be held in Tehran in Aban 1389( Oct-Nov 2010) showing the works of 30 years of artistic achievement by Iranian illustrators.

The executive director of the event told reporters we are going to select the best of last 30 years of illustrators along the exhibition and therew ill be seminars too.

Iranian illustrators are among the best illustrators in thew orls and they stay along artists of 5 other countries who also enjoy world attention in the field.

"Today Posters" has called on graphic artists interested in the "Holly Names" to participate in its sixth typography competition.

The competition will be held in the month of Ramadhan ( 21st Mordad- 18th Shahrivar) with participants from other parts of the world. In this years event there will also be another competition with the subject of religious posters. The works should be sent in digital forms with G1 formats and size" 35*25) with 300 dpi or ( 2953* 4135 pixels, through the competition website, with no more than 4 mega bytes in size. Posters are asked to be designed vertical with every artist having the chance to participate

Hoze Honari's visual art department has called artists to participate in the fifth festival of visual arts specializing on young artists in the fields of; painting, cartoon, calligraphy, poster, illustrations, design and sculpture.

The aim of the festival is to look for young talents among Iranian youth , according to the organizers.

The works must all be originals and be sent to the secretariat without any frames.Those participants sending volumes or paintings must include a photo of the work in digital form on a CD along with a A4 print.

The first art expo started in shiraz, south of Iran. The event is organized by Eco Cultural Institute and it is exhibiting art works by Iranian and Pakistani artists.

Works of 100 Iranian artists and 45 Pakistani artists include painting, calligraphy, photography, miniature art, calligraphy- paintings and sculptures.

Second music festival with the title of "from classic to contemporary" will be held with collaboration of Iran musuc association and tehran music group in Rudaki hall, Tehran.

The festival will be held on 4th Khordad(24th June 2010) and receives soloists and group performances and the final date for receiving the works is 13th Ordibehesht(3rd June 2010).

Tenerife sixteenth International festival of childrens illustarations, recognized its winners, with seven Iranians on the list.

The competition was held in two sections; first "the fat lady" where 24 illustrators from all over the world completed the final list in  which names of three Iranian illustrators exist.

Calligraphy, painting,graphics and sculptors are the importatnt biennials of new Iranian calendar.

Taheri who is adviser to visual art center of the country told reporters that the third national visual arts festival will also be held with better organization internationally and the call for this event will be published very soon.
