Famous Directors to Compete New Talents at 2010 Fajr Festival PDF Print E-mail

Iran's 28th Fajr International Film Festival will witness a close competition between the country's new and eminent filmmakers.

So far, some 65 productions by veteran and aspiring directors have been submitted to the festival to participate in the competition section of the annual event. Many young filmmakers will debut their films this year getting the

chance to vie with some of the biggest names in Iranian cinema such as Dariush Mehrjoui, Ebrahim Hatamikia, Pouran Derakhshandeh and Behrouz Afkhami.

The 2010 Fajr International Film Festival will be held ; Jan. 25 to Feb. 4, 2010, screening feature-length and short films, animations and documentaries representing around the globe. The films will be presented in Iranian Cinema, World Cinema, Quest for Truth and Justice — Competition of Spiritual Cinema, Eastern Vista — Competition of Asian Cinema and Out-of-Competition sections.

This year's event will also screen a selection of outstanding films presented at other international festivals in its Festival of Festivals section.
