Tehran short filmfest to host 101 countries PDF Print E-mail

Filmmakers from 101 countries have announced readiness to participate in the 2009 edition of Tehran's International Short Film Festival.

According to ,Iran's Youth Cinema Association, some 2,381 entries have been submitted to the festival including 1,359 fiction, 347 documentaries, 342 experimental films and 329 animations.

Some 21 Muslim countries have also sent entries to the event's international section, including Algeria, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Palestine, Pakistan, Niger, Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt and Turkey.

France, Spain, the UK, Brazil, Germany, Italy, the US, Canada, Belgium and Argentina have sent the largest number of films respectively.

Tehran's 2009 International Short Film Festival will be held this fall, with the aim of promoting the knowledge and insight of the younger generation.
