A documentary on 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq won the Special Prize at the ASA International Humanitarian Film Festival during a ceremony on Saturday. 

Directed by Mahmud Rahmani, “Zero-Degree Turn” is about the calamities occurring in an Iranian family who live near Iraq’s frontier between during Iran-Iraq war.

Award winners were:

Best Documentary: “Little Jockey” (directed by Yuli Andari and Anton Susilo) from Indonesia

Best Animation: “In our Home” (Maryam Kashkulinia)

Best Editor: Farideh Daghalagheh for “Zero-Degree Turn” and “Cinema Azadi”

Best Cameraman: Turaj Aslani for “How Green was Our Valley” (Fereshteh Jaghtaii)

Best Screenwriter: Nader Saeivar for “Yalqiz”

Best Research for Documentary Film: Pejman Mazaheripur for “The Lake Which Was”

Best Actor: Mehdi Toroqi for “Cinema Azadi”

The festival was held in Tehran from April 27 to May 1
