Eleven foreign storytellers from 9 countries as well as 24 teachers of Institute of Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) and five other Iranian storytellers will attend the 14th Int'l IIDCYA Storytelling Festival. The festival will kick off on February 19 in Bandar Abbas.

The Iranian storytellers have been chosen from provincial and regional contests while the foreign storytellers were selected from the nominees by a group of experts.

According to the festival's secretary Morteza Heidari, 1059 storytellers participated in the national storytelling contests and as 30 provincial festivals concluded, 171 storytellers attended the regional competitions.

During the Festival 11 foreign storytellers from countries including Poland, Norway, Serbia, Russia, Turkey, Indonesia, Thailand, Germany, Kenya and Greece will recount their stories, he added saying that nine storytellers from Lebanon and Afghanistan will participate as the festival's guests.

Moreover he said that more than 35 storytellers from 18 countries had announced their readiness to attend the festival.
The festival's stories will be recorded by a professional group and on the final day a CD will be presented.

The 14th International Storytelling Festival is slated for February 19-22.
