78 books for children compete for Parvin award PDF Print E-mail

Of the 2035 children's titles submitted to the secretariat of the 4th Parvin Etesami Festival, 78 have been chosen to be screened by the panel of judges.

The works submitted to the 18-strong panel of judges for consideration were assessed in six sessions.

Of the 2035 books considered by the judges, 735 were authored works that only 24 of them made way to the final round of assessments.

The number comprised 16 works for children and 8 other for young adults. Moreover, 790 translation works were screened as well that 26 of them were short-listed and 17 of them were translated for young adults and the rest were for children specifically.

What is more, 510 poetry books were submitted to the festival that 28 of them made way to the final round of assessments.

Only one book will be praised as winner of the award and one will lauded as a praiseworthy work in each category. The closing ceremony of the festival will be held on March 7. Parvin award considers works authored and provided by female writers in different fields.
