The winners of Gulestan introductory recitation contest were announced yesterday. The aim of this contest was to familiarize the new generation with classical Persian literature.

The central Book City and the center of Saadiology held the contest to familiarize the new generation with classical literature. In the past few years Book City has held meetings and lectures for introducing classical poets and literati to the new generation. This year's lectures were on Saadi's works and life. Gulistan is one of Persian Literature's most effective books and was taught as a text book in school for decades. In the beginning of the ceremony for announcing the winners "Abdollah Kosari", "Manouchehr Daneshpajouh" and "Kourosh Kamali Sarvestani" talked about the importance of translating classical Persian literature.

Then the attendees recited parts of Gulistan. 23 contestants were short listed and finally Sama Gharaee, Azadeh Tajoddini, Shima Teibi Jazayeri won the cultural tour to Shiraz and Mohamamad Rasouli, Maedeh Sadat Darbandi and Elaheh Daryanian each won a golden coin.
