On the verge of the 12th establishment anniversary of the Community of Children's Writers, Mohsen Hejri, member of the community's board of directors, said it is the main center for children's writers in Iran and is deeply involved in pursuing their demands.

"The developments and achievements of the community like insuring the writers, interacting with state and private foundations and implementing different plans cannot be easily overlooked," stated Hejri . "Moreover, in the recent year the community has been engaged with solving writers' problems playing an intermediary role." He postulated that only one fifth of the members of the community are active writers saying the community has long been up to increasing the number. "That many of the member fail to be prolific indicates a defect in the framework of the community's actions," he added. As he said, it began to work with only nine writers and now it has over 300 members. Recognition of authorship and creation of a writers' guilt to pursue cultural activities are among the future missions of the community, he added.

The Community of Children's Writers was founded in 1997 with 9 members. A ceremony will be held on December 17 to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the establishment of the community.
