Parvin Etesami literary award PDF Print E-mail

The 4th Parvin Etesami biennial literary award concluded on Monday, March 7, in Tehran's Vahdat hall. During the ceremony the Islamic Guidance and Culture Minister said: "I am proud to say that Parvin's poetry had a great role in developing the society ethically."
During the ceremony a documentary film about Parvin's life and works was screened which was directed by Seyyed Saeed Mir-Mohammad Sadegh.

Talking the stage the secretary of the award's board of trustees, Bahman Dorri welcomed the guests and talked about the poetry development following the Islamic Revolution and added:" Following the Islamic Revolution, poetry got on a par with the
Revolution but on the other hand the fictional literature, with all its value, did not move as fast as poetry."

He hoped that the matter would reinforce with awards and festivals including Parvin as well as developing the foundation of fictional literature.

Finally he said:" The cultural deputy office has prioritized supporting the award's laureates and praise worthies."

Furthermore the award's scientific board member, Abbasali Vafaee said: "The concepts of Parvin's poetry are superior to the men's poetry and her poetry elements are full of meaning. Moreover he said that the submitted work's scientific and literary levels have boosted as well."

Moreover the award's secretary, Majid Hamidzadeh said:" Some 5476 works were submitted to the 4th Parvin Etesami biennial literary award which were evaluated by 518 experts and judges. Finally 21 works were chosen."

The compiled works were more than the translated books, he added.

Then the Islamic Guidance and Culture Minister, Seyyed Mohammad Husseini said:" The number of the participating female poets and authors and 5476 works indicates a great change of the women's presence in the filed of literature and culture."

Finally the ceremony concluded with presenting the awards and the festival's laureates bagged their gifts which included 30 gold coins, a testimonial as well as Parvin Etesami's statuette. The awards were presented by Seyyed Mohammad Husseini, Bahman Dorri, Dehghan, as well as some other literary figures.

Badr-ul-Zaman Qarib as praised as the veteran scholar and author.

The creators of praise worthy works were presented with 10 gold coins.

The 5th Fajr International Poetry Festival was brought to a close here on Tuesday at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall, where the winners received their awards from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini, Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance for Cultural Affairs, Bahman Dorri, Iranian Academy of Arts (IAA) Director, Ali Mo’allem Damghani, and a group of Iranian and foreign poets also took part in the ceremony. Ahmadinejad regarded poetry as the common language of human beings and manifestation of an effort to depict mankind.

 
14th Int'l Storytelling Festival PDF Print E-mail

Eleven foreign storytellers from 9 countries as well as 24 teachers of Institute of Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) and five other Iranian storytellers will attend the 14th Int'l IIDCYA Storytelling Festival. The festival will kick off on February 19 in Bandar Abbas.

The Iranian storytellers have been chosen from provincial and regional contests while the foreign storytellers were selected from the nominees by a group of experts.

According to the festival's secretary Morteza Heidari, 1059 storytellers participated in the national storytelling contests and as 30 provincial festivals concluded, 171 storytellers attended the regional competitions.

The 4th International Bidel Dehlavi Congress will be held on 18th and 19th May 2011 by Kanoon of Iranian Literature.

According to the Kanoon of Iranian Literature, all researchers and scholars working on Bidel Dehlavi or the presence and effects of hundreds years of Persian Language and Literature residence in India can submit their articles to the secretariat of this congress no later than 6 March 2011.

Main axes of this congress include: "Analysis and Interpretation of Bidel Dehlavi's Thought and Works" (introducing manuscripts and lithographed works of Bidel – stylistic and thematic

The first fair accommodating works of 1st Festival of Precious Books and Manuscripts opened in five sections yesterday, February 12.

The ceremony was attended by artists and art and literature professors. Firstly the secretary of the Precious Books Festival Mahmoud Esmaeeli said:" Holding the Festival of Precious Books and Manuscripts is among the programs of the National Library and Archives which kicked off with the cooperation of UNESCO, the cultural deputy of Islamic Guidance and Guidance Ministry and the Academy of Arts.

He added:" The festival and the fair, which houses 540 works, are held in order to bestow identification to precious books in the print industry. However the word "Precious" is used
